We are thankful for all of our wonderful parents, alumni, volunteers, staff, and community who support our school. It is the children that bring the blessings of each day. It is with your help and support that MSC strive to provide this excellent service to the community of Cheyenne. We hope to expand the availability of the Montessori philosophy to many students now and in the future. We thank you for your continued support to allow the Montessori School of Cheyenne to continue to grow and provide the best early childhood education in the Cheyenne community.

Welcome back!  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and we are so glad to see everyone back here at MSC!  We will be hitting the ground running this week as we pick up right where we left off prior to the holiday break!  Please remember to check the Parent News boards every day for all daily classroom information as well as all upcoming events and activities. Please review the January newsletter as it contains a variety of classroom reminders as well as the themes that will be studied this month.

The last few weeks, throughout the holidays, your students discussed the season of winter as well as spent time learning about what some animals do during this cold season!  Through a variety of classroom materials and children's literature we studied hibernation and migration along with some characteristics of these winter animals.  Next week we will  move back into the Geography area as we learn about the cold and snowy continent of Antarctica.  This will include a discussion of the location, climate and animals of this unique continent!  We will also spend some time comparing and contrasting Antarctica and the Arctic Circle.

I also continued core presentations this week focusing on Grace and Courtesy.  This is a great time of year as we come back from the holidays to review some general Grace and Courtesy lessons.  This included Pushing in Chairs and Walking Around Rugs along with some general classroom guidelines.  These core presentations will continue in the math and language areas next week when we begin preparing for the Hundred Board in the math area as well introduce a new Beginning Sounds work in the language area.  As always, please see me with any questions about any of these materials or stop by and observe our class in action!  Our door is always open and we would love to have you!
